Honestly, how many times have you heard that statement? The reality is, it's how you approach the thing in the first place.
As soon as you mention the word diet, it's out... you have already set yourself up on thinking that there's a load of restricted foods you can't eat. Why is this... it's about what goes in and what comes out....
By coming out, I mean calories in and calories out...
Exercise is key here. If we dont do enough, but eat too much, guess what! The weight piles on or doesn't shift.
So not only can we continue to eat the foods we eat, we have to look at the portion sizes and the calories and fat, protein, carbohydrate, salt and sugar contents.
Yes, there may be a few things we need to cut down on eating, but not necessarily cut out. Let's face it we need good and bad fats, so the myth that some foods are bad for us period, are just that.... myths. As long as we control and monitor what it is we are eating, then we can eat what we like.
I know there are mixed studies out there, but let us look at the human body, it is built in a certain way. Our digestives systems are built to work in a specific way, but the thing is we tend to overload it by eating alot of the wrong foods at the same time....
People have said that if we followed the 'cave man' diet, or the pre- 1942 world war 1 diet, that we would all be more healthy, fact is those diets were about rationing the portion size and looking at what was wholesome and provided energy for us to function on a daily basis. There were no processed foods, or sugary foods at those times, and this is the difference we face in todays times.
The fact that we have 'convenience foods', 'fast foods', foods without any nutritional value, but full of calories just the same. What you have to recognise if you wish to improve your health is that reading your food labels is key to understanding and knowing what you are putting into your mouth!
More on food labelling to come....
To your dieting success!

Diet Question Time Sundays - IBS and what to Eat and Not Eat
If you have any of the following symtpoms, you may have IBS.
- Some people have bouts of diarrhoea
- some people have bouts of constipation
- bloating and swellling of the abdomen from time to time
- passing more wind that usual
- some people have bouts of diarrhoea that alternate with bouts of constipation
- some people have an urgency to go to the toilet, either arter eating or in the morning during eating breakfast.
- a feeling of not properly emptying your bowels when you go to the toilet
- Sometimes your stools become small and pellet like, sometimes watery or ribbony.
- poor appetite
- belching, or feeling full after soon eating.
SO, what kind of things can you eat to help your IBS?
Finding out what is your trigger food is essential for understanding what you should or should not eat. Everyone's diet is different so there isn't really a one diet fits all.
Food elimination is a great way to find out what brings on the symptoms of IBS for you.
Keep a food diary on a daily basis and make notes of how you feel after eating each food type. This will help identify what foods are triggering your IBS and thus which ones to avoid.
I found a really great site that points out what to eat and what not to eat, click here for more details.
This site is also a great site http://www.mealplansite.com/medical-irritable-bowel-syndrome.aspx

SO now its your turn, if you suffer from IBS, what tips can you give to others.... comments in my comments luv box below :)

Diet Question Time Sundays - Can You Lose Weight With Little Or No Exercise?
Interesting question facing today's question time with LFGC UK Founder Colette Morris. How many times have I been asked by my clients if they can go on a program to lose weight without any exercise being involved.
Let's take this questions apart. Our bodies need to use up a certain amount of calories in order for us to function on a day to day basis, that is being able to move around, for our heart and organs to function for the blood to circulate, for the food to digest and lots more other bodily functions we so take for granted.
Infact digestion uses up so many calories, which is one of the reasons why we feel so tired after we have eaten alot of food. To counteract the amount of energy (calories) used in the digestion process our body takes measures to slow us down in order that it can conserve the energy and focus it on the digestion process. Do you realise that up we use up more calories in the digestion process than you do on the food you have actually eaten that is being digested in the first place.
The science behind weight loss is Calories eaten is less than Calories used. So what do you think will happen if you eat the same number of calories you are using up on a day to day basis?
So, I guess the final answer to that is YES, you can lose weight without adding exercise to your program but you will take longer to lose weight. The upshot of it all is that when you lose weight, you envariably will have excess skin which will sag, this may be around your stomach, your bust or your butt, so to ensure that the weight you lose and the excess skin which has been over stretched through time, it is best to exercise using weights to ensure you tone the skin and the muscles. It is a well known fact that muscles help to bur body fat, therefore if you tone, you also burn fat, and lose weight.
There are some great toning exercises which do not command too much effort but are effective for weightloss.
