What Are Your Thoughts on Budget Gyms?

This is an interesting one!

You see for me, I see it as this... on the one hand, lowering the prices of gyms have afforded more people to actually take up a gym membership who would not normally go, which is a good thing, as people are now paying more attention to their diet and lifestyle.
Also having a gym open 24/7 is a great idea, because some of us can't seem to fit in the conventional 6am - 10pm in most  gyms due to work pressures.

For people who are self conscious, knowing that they can go to the gym either early or late to avoid the work crush is also an encouraging thing, although I have seen that people who are overweight or self conscious get lots of encouragement when they to attend the gyms.

However, and at the same time, with these low cost gyms now popping up everywhere, the competition is fierce which is again good for the consumer, but bad for other more expensive gyms, as it is forcing them out of business.

Here is a great article I found on the BBC website, let me know your thought and what you think about the low cost budget gyms.
